Acceptable Computer Use Policy
The computers at the Brookston-Prairie Township Public Library are provided for patrons of all ages. However, parents or guardians must co-sign the internet agreement with minors under 18. A parent or guardian must come in to the library to complete the internet agreement form. All internet agreement forms are kept on file. You just need to register one.
There is a limit of ONE HOUR per day of patrons use of the internet computers and the library does not guarantee that computers will be available when the library is open.
ONLY TWO PATRONS may access one computer at a time and BOTH must have internet forms on file.
Friends without internet agreements on file need to wait in another seating area of the library until you finish.
Computer privileges will be roved for inappropriate use:
- Accessing, transmitting, uploading or downloading, or distributing pornographic, obscene, abusive, demeaning, threatening or sexually explicit material or language.
- Violating any local, state, or federal statue.
- Vandalizing, damaging, or disabling the library computers.
NO FILES MAY BE DOWNLOADED TO THE LIBRARY COMPUTERS’ HARD DRIVES.
